Five of my favourite Steam games on sale for under $5
It's currently the Black Friday weekend, and while there's no site-wide sale on Steam, there are still some really good deals to be found. Today, I'll show you 5 little games, each under $5 which I've had fun with.
Bejeweled 3 - 80% off
PopCap's match-3 game Bejeweled 3 is still one of the best
Despite its age, this 2010 match-3 game from PopCap is still considered on of the best gem-matching puzzle games on Steam, with 97% of recent reviews still being positive. At just 99 yen / $0.99, Bejeweled 3 is a bargain! Check it out on Steam.
Donut County - 70% off
A superb little story game in which you devour everything!
I really enjoyed this casual, physics game. Donut County is quite short (I finished the story in 2.2 hours), but it was so unique! You control a hole in the ground and swallow stuff up. What could possibly go wrong, lol! It's currently 525 yen / $3.89 on sale. Check it out on Steam.
Human Resource Machine - 67% off
Program your employees to do a good job!
Programming puzzle game Human Resource Machine and its sequel 7 Billion Humans are both on sale for 561 yen / $4.94 each (plus 15% off as a bundle). No programming experience necessary as you just drag and drop commands to make a script. They start off easy but get progressively more difficult. I enjoyed them, but my brain did melt. Check it out on Steam.
Room to Grow - 75% off
You're not a snake, you're a cactus!
Room to Grow is a a kind of sokoban (block-pushing) game in which you have to push a potted plant into the designated spot. It looks simple but is surprisingly tricky! Your cactus doesn't have legs, so you need to push yourself off walls and bushes, but try not to block yourself! At 252 yen / $2.49, it's well worth the sale price. Check it out on Steam.
Flat Out 2 - 80% off
Ram your opponents off the road before they do it to you!
I really liked the racing / demolition derby game Wreckfest by developer Bugbear, so I took a chance on their old game FlatOut 2 from 2006, and wow, it was so much fun! Sure, the UI and controls are a bit janky almost 20 years later, but the gameplay itself is a blast! I can definitely still recommend it at the sale price of 240 yen / $1.99. Check it out on Steam.
What about me?
Since I already own all of those games, I'm thinking of picking up something else. Have you ever played that watermelon "suika" game that was popular on mobile? You have to merge smaller fruit into bigger fruit while keeping the fruit in the bowl. Well, I just found a 3D version called Fruit Mountain. It's got 98% Very Positive reviews and is 70% off right now. So for 294 yen / $2.69, I think it's worth a shot! See for yourself on Steam.
I think I'll get this fruit merging game.
