The Steam Awards are upon us again, and I've already cast my votes! My choices are unlikely to win any grand prizes, but they brought me a lot of entertainment in 2025. Let's see what they were...
I've always been fond of racing games. As a kid I loved Outrun, Power Drift, Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge and, at a friend's house, Mario Kart on the SNES. Later in life I played some Gran Turismo, and then years past before I picked up the gaming hobby again.
It's currently the Black Friday weekend, and while there's no site-wide sale on Steam, there are still some really good deals to be found. Today, I'll show you 5 little games, each under $5 which I've had fun with.
The gaming world is abuzz with the announcement of the 2025 Game Award nominees, and it made me think, "Which games have I bought that came out this year?" Let's take a look!
I grew up playing Sim City on the Commodore Amiga, and I followed the series until the calamity that was EA's Sim City 2013. That game was a disaster from day one: It launched with always-online DRM, tiny city sizes, constant server issues and crappy traffic AI. It also cost 60 bucks.
One of the best games I've played this year is a train game from 2023. Railgrade takes the rail logistics aspect from Factorio and turns it into a full game. Connect mines and factories with train tracks and locomotives. Complete supply chains and ship your wares off-planet for profit!
Valve have announced their latest VR headest and what appeals to me most is using it in bed while looking up at the ceiling. If you've tried that with an iPad, you know the risks!
I’ve had the urge to buy a new game recently, and I usually only buy games on sale. Right now, there are three games on my wishlist that interest me...
Since Silksong came out, I've been spending more time reading opinions of it than actually playing it! There's something fascinating about people bickering over a game's difficulty.
Programming and automation game, The Farmer Was Replaced, was one of the most surprisng games I came across this year, and it turned out to be a smash hit!
My brother and I have played a ton of PowerWash Simulator. In fact, we've finished all but two DLC levels (the last two jobs in the much maligned Warhammer DLC). So with that almost done, I wanted to find us a new game to play together.
Like Mork in the old Robin Williams comedy Mork & Mindy, I'm speaking to the void, unsure if anyone is listening. But you've got to start somewhere, right?
